Skin Care for Dry/Sensitive Skin

I've been wanting to blog about this for a while now, and I finally feel like I can since I truly believe that I've found the perfect skin care products. Now, let's talk about skin types. For a while, I struggled with knowing what exact skin type I was, since my skin was basically abnormal (most of the time). I finally figured out the way to do so is to simply just pay close attention to how your skin reacts to certain things. For example, weather change, when you wake up, the way your skin looks after you wash your face. Those were a few things I looked closely at. I then realized that whatever the occasion was, my skin was dry almost all the time whether it be summer, winter, or in an air-conditioned room, my skin was dry all the time! I also realized that my skin was sensitive to almost everything I put on my face which made me even more scared to try out new makeup products. As I tried different face washes and cleansers, I was introduced to the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Anti Breakout Facial Cleanser by my sister.

I can honestly say that this is the best cleanser/facewash I have ever tried. It is very gentle on your skin, it does exactly what the bottle says (prevents breakouts) and it definitely removes most of the makeup on my face! Now, I will say that after washing my face with this cleanser, it does leave it a bit dry due to the salicylic acid it has in it, but with a good moisturizer followed up, you're good to go! As much as I love this cleanser, and I would definitely repurchase it over and over again, it is unfortunately no longer available in the country where I live in. As I was faced with the same dilemma I had before finding this product, I found myself feeling very anxious about finding another facial cleanser/wash that was right for my skin.

I finally said to myself that it was time for me to actually go out and try new products for my skin and not be afraid about it. I first purchased the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash for sensitive skin and I was really unhappy about it! It was not moisturizing and in my opinion, was very drying. I had breakouts a week after using the product. It may work for some people but it just wasn't the one for me.

As I was browsing inside Boots, once again, I came across a cleanser called the Bioderma Sebium Purifying Foaming Gel. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the idea of a foaming gel, but I finally gave in and decided to purchase the product. It has been almost a week since I've used this cleanser and I honestly love it. Maybe even more than my previous fascial cleanser! It is extra gentle on your skin, it lathers up very nicely, it has a slight clean fragrance to it (which I love) when you apply it on your face and then disappears once you rinse it off, it leaves your skin feeling so smooth and clean and lastly, I love that it has a pump for the product to come out! Makes it so much easier :)

To be honest, the only reason I decided to purchase another Bioderma product was because of this cleanser (Bioderma Sensibio H2O). I was introduced to this product, once again, by my sister. She used it a couple of times and finally convinced me that it was one of the best daily cleansers out there, and was perfect for sensitive skin. Don't get me wrong, me and my sister have completely opposite skin types, but I took her word for it (as I always do) and tried out this product. I have been using this product to take my makeup off for the past 2 years and I will keep on repurchasing it as long as I can. This product is the best thing out there to remove any excess makeup on your face that you think is gone and the best part is that it doesn't break you out! After using the Bioderma Sebium Purifying Foaming Gel to wash my face, I follow up with this cleanser using a cotton pad. You will be amazed at how much makeup and dirt you actually have left on your face and how it rubs it off leaving your skin feeling so gentle and clean. Oh and it's fragrance free!

Using a lot of cleansers and face wash on your skin will definitely dry it out so make sure you apply fascial moisturizer after every wash. I used to use the Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream, and although it did moisturize my face, at the end of the day my skin still felt very dry and tight especially around my mouth. After watching a lot of Beauty Guru's on YouTube talk about the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer, I decided to give it a try and boy am I in love with it! My skin feels like a baby's bottom whenever I apply it and it lasts all day long!

We only get one skin in this lifetime, so we might as well take very good care of it! These are all just my opinions and what works for me best :) Hope you enjoyed!
